We hope you've been doing okay! As promised, we're here to announce that the sign-ups for the second edition of the Sakuraiba Exchange are finally...

Here's a round-up of the rules for this exchange:

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc): AU preferably, but even non-AUs are fine. I love fluff, but I don't want a story that is only rainbows. So, an angst/drama story with a deserved happy ending is my ideal one! Also, I enjoy humor but it's not necessary if you can't do it!
Here are some prompts you can use if nothing comes to your mind. You can ignore them or even mix them. Go wild!
- High School AU or University AU (student/student or teacher/teacher. NOT student/teacher).
- Enemies to lovers. Or better, lovers to EXs (so kind of enemies) to lovers again. For example, something brings them together again and they have to work side by side, and their feelings surface again.
- Kinda connected to the one above? Maybe? Enemies who, after a drunk night in Vegas, woke up in the same bed just to find out that they got married the night before.
- Fake dating. For example, Rental lovers AU.
- Amnesia AU: Aiba and Sho were lovers for a long time but then they broke up. Years and years later, they meet again but Sho doesn't remember Aiba at all. Later, Aiba finds out that Sho had an accident and he lost part of his memories, and so, he forgot about Aiba. Since Aiba has still feelings for Sho, he decides to court him again, just as he did back then (hence, Sho is very surprised by how Aiba seems to know him so well). But, what happens when Sho discovers that Aiba has been lying to him?
- Kageyama/Kizoku but I know that this is asking the impossible hahaha.
- Historical AU.
- The Proposal AU.
- Secret Agents AU.
- Aiba is the son of a CEO and he is invited to Sakurai's house for an arranged marriage with Sho's sister. When he is there, as he is going to the living room to meet the woman, he sees Sho climbing down the stairs and going to the living room as well. They exchange a quick look but Aiba is already captured by him, so for the whole meeting, he is more interested in Sho than his sister. So, basically, even if Aiba has to marry the woman, he ends up falling for Sho and every time Aibas and Sakurais are together, Aiba is always with Sho, even if he should court the sister. (Preferably, Sho's sister ends up falling in love with someone else in the end, so she won't have a sad ending!)
- Opposites Attract AU. City guy Sho is sent to the countryside to his stepbrother/cousin Ohno's farm, and there he meets Aiba, his best friend. The two couldn't be more different, but eventually, romance blooms between them.
- Lifeguards AU: Sho, head of his department, had collapsed due to overwork and his boss forces him to go on vacation at the end of June, which basically means hell for him. Together with his assistant and friend, Nino, he decides to go to his family's vacation home, which has not been used in ages and where he used to spend his summers back in his teenage years. After some days in which he suffers the lacking of work, Sho drags himself to the nearest beach. There, he sees a lifeguard, the most gorgeous man he has ever seen and he instantly develops a crush. One day, Nino decides to help him and they act: Sho fakes to drown and Aiba rescues him. From there on, Sho tries to hit on Aiba any time he can. ///// Or, Sho madly in love with lifeguard Aiba and he and Nino and go to the beach bar (the owner is Ohno) every day to look at him running, saving people, and flexing his body (if Sho goes as far as thinking to buy binoculars to see better, I would die laughing so *wink wink*). Jun is a lifeguard as well and works with Aiba. You could pair him up with Nino (so Sho and Nino would try to hit on both lifeguards) if you want an idea for a side pairing!
As for side pairings, if you want to add them, either Matsumiya or Juntoshi for romance. If it's about friendships, then Aimiya, Sakumoto, or Sakumiya! If you want to add a past romance, then any pairing is fine.
What I would NOT like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc): Violence, character death, heavy BDSM, rape, PWP, OT3 or OT5, mpreg, horror, non-con, drugs/smoking, incest (unless they're not blood-related in ANY WAY). No unnecessary Japanese words (ex: ohayou, oyasumi...) but it's fine if you want to put -san, -kun, or the likes. I don't like werewolves but vampires are fine. Please no stereotypes (the keio boy, the crybaby, seme/uke dynamics etc...). No genderswitch (crossdressing is fine though). No big age-gap between lovers. No 'forced' situations (ex: Sho and Aiba forced to marry each other or have sex or else against their will. If it's about working together on a project then that's completely fine, but anything that forces their romance making it a non-con situation is XXX).
As for side pairings: what I stated before basically. However, if I have to list the pairings I enjoy the least: Ohmiya, Junba, Sakumoto. Also, there are two pairings I don't like romantically BUT I enjoy as friendships: Ninoai and Ohba.
What I would like to write (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc): AU, any other genre is fine. I like to write romance, fluff, angst, humor. Regarding side pairings, Matsumiya or Juntoshi! If it's about past lovers, anything is fine.

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc):
- I'm into plants nowadays so I'd like a Flower Shop AU or something. Like one is the shop owner, the other is like a flower otaku/nerd who's into Hanakotoba (flower meanings) and they form a friendship through their love for plants until it blossoms into a romance. (I'm corny, I know)
- Hotel Resort AU; Aiba wins a trip to Hawaii for two. However, he recently broke up with his lover, so he asks his friend to come with him. On the very day of the trip, Aiba's friend backs out due to a problem and instead sends Sakurai, whom Aiba has only met once or a few times during outings, to accompany him. (P.S. there is only one bed in their hotel room)
- Blind Date AU; one wants a long-lasting romance while the other just wants to get laid. (Up to you if they actually know each other before the date or not)
- Crime/Mafia/Yakuza AU; it can be criminal/detective or they're both detectives or they're both criminals. Basically enemies/rivals to lovers kind of story.
- A supernatural or fantasy AU;
I actually don't have a story for this so... you're on your own here. (Message me thru mods, maybe?)Character A is a paranormal enthusiast and Character B can see spirits but keeps it a secret. A always drags B with him to haunted places for fun, etc. Some ghosts are cool, some are scary, and other ghosts actually go cupid and tell B to date A.- Pet Shop owner AU; idk I just thought of this because of the recent ep of I Love Minna no Doubutsuen XD
- Anything with Maid!Sho would be nice too OwO
Secondary pairings: It can be either Ohmiya, Matsumiya, or Juntoshi. I'm also open for other pairings & love triangles. I'm also ok with married Nino & Ayako (but no cheating!).
I prefer Aiba as Top and Sho as Bottom. As for other pairings, you can ask me about it thru the mods if you want.
I can handle angst, but I would really love a happy ending for the main couple. Fluff or smut (or both) is good too. Light BDSM is okay as well. Other than that, it's all up to you; you don't need to restrict yourself with the prompts. Go crazy as long as you follow the NOT list.

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc):
AU ONLY, Unrequited romances, Office romance, Enemies to Lovers, Fluff, Angst and Hurt/Comfort, Slow burns, Slice of life, happy ending or sad ending are both okay! A little drama here and there is also great. I like Sakujunba love triangle in a wrong-guy-first kind of way, but it is not completely necessary. Some smut is welcomed. Sho or Aiba top, either way, is okay with me. Mutual Pinning. For humor, I mainly like to see Sho being dumbstruck towards Aiba that his clumsiness shows, in other words Dumbstruck!Sho. Master!Aiba x Butler!Sho dynamics.
Here are some prompts:
- Fake dating AU; where they fall for one another and there is a lot of mutual pinning involved.
- Doctors AU; they are seen as a competitive pair in the hospital, but secretly they are each other’s support and romantic partner (think Kamisama no Kakurete)
- Professional Go players AU; If you know what Go is (the Chinese board game), Aiba and Sho have to play a round of couples Go for a championship and they have to train together to be in each other’s head.
- Tailor Shop AU; Aiba owns a tailor shop and one day his childhood crush Sho comes in to get a suit for his wedding day.
- Fantasy AU, something that doesn’t require too much world-building of course, but I’ve always been curious to see Aiba possess some sort of healing powers and Sho needing his help.
- Youtubers AU; Sho and Aiba collabing.
- Model AU; Aiba is a fashion model and Sho is a reporter.
- Texting AU; A story developed entirely through text messages between Aiba and Sho.
- Idol AU; Aiba, also known as Disco Star-sama and staff member Sho who helps dress him up between sets.
- MC AU; Aiba and Sho as rival main casters of a music show. They are both fighting for who gets the highest ratings on their show. They make a bet to see who wins.
- Rich Family AU; They were inseparable childhood friends but are split apart. When they come back all grown up they realize they have feelings for each other but their families now hate one another so they can’t be together/be seen together.
For secondary pairings, I would accept anything, (although I am not a big fan of Shojun) and as long as it is between the Arashi members (and/or Toma (for Jun), Kazama (for Aiba), or Ueda (for Sho).
You don’t have to follow these exact prompts. If there is anything at all from what I previously wrote that inspires a story in you (even if it has nothing to do with the prompts I requested) CHASE THAT FEELING. Just make sure you follow the NOT list.

Genres: I love fantasy, wouldn't mind sci-fic, detective stories are always welcome, slice-of-life in a mild setting is great, coffee shops?? bring it on, any kind of fluff would be loved, cliches are great
Plots/Prompts: First of all, you can write whatever you want, I will be happy with anything but if you're someone like me, who needs prompts to work on, here you go!
-Vampires AU: look, I love vampires, I love it, so if you ever want, pls don't hesitate to give me one!
-Soulmates AU: Any kind will do tbh
-Mortal/immortal: It could be something sad with a happy ending. I really don't mind suffering if it leads to a happy ending. I love the "I love you so much but you're a mortal and I'm immortal and this will never gonna work" but find a way to make it work. I am a sucker if it's something like "I'll wait for you" kind of thing. Wow, this would be really angsty tho.
-Love so life AU: This is a manga about a newscaster (Sho) taking care of his niece and nephew (They are twins!!!) who's mother died in a car accident and their father is in no mental place to take care of them. Twins go to daycare and there comes Aiba who's the idol of every kid in the daycare and twins literally adore him. Twins always talk about Aiba-chan at home and when Sho finally meets Aiba, he asks if he can hire him to take care of the twins at home because he's damn busy with his schedule and so.
Rest of is up to you. (I know this kind of prompt is used a lot but what can I say, I love it)
-Sho has been in love with Aiba since he first saw him. But for 15 years now, Aiba keeps rejecting his confession (aka all the "who would you like to date? Sho: Aiba, Aiba: *someone else*)
- This one particular tumblr prompt is just my cup of tea: "Why am I so afraid of losing you when you aren't even mine" Sho thinks while looking at Aiba. (I'll always be sold for Sho loving Aiba while the other is literally clueless)
- Sakurai Sho as the manager of famous actor/model/singer/talent (you decide) Aiba Masaki and Aiba finds the way Sho knows *everything* very sexy.
- Fantasy: Sho, the mapmaker is out on an adventure with Aiba, the creature care-taker.
Secondary pairings: I love Suezu. I love Suezu with all my might. So if you give me Suezu, I will love you forever.
If Suezu doesn't work with you, I am fine with which pairing you want to give me.
As a note: I'm seriously, like seriously, not into Aiba-the-idiot-sunshine. Aiba is more than that, so please please don't give me whiny Aiba who is a huge idiot. I am more of an Aibasama fan.
okay regarding this, I'd like to explain myself: I don't like it if you describe Aiba with sterotyped uke kind of way. I know he's an airhead sometimes, does funny mistakes, cries easily (btw I find it beautiful and brave when Aiba cries) but NOT in a way of annoying uke type. I am fine with Aiba being uke, or top, but please just keep him in a fine way.

I don't really like reading stories on first person POV
I don't have anything against pairings having sex so go ahead if you want but please no pwp, mpreg, underage, non-con, gore, orgy, heavy bdsm (I'm totally fine with the slight bdsm where cuffs and blindfolds are included but not the *too heavy stuff*) or things like that. Please no cheating and please don't break a couple to make another one together. My heart won't be able to handle that ;-; I beg of you please no rape, Stockholm Syndrome! Prompts: Sho runs a business (your choice) and Aiba is his new employee, Sho is an older vampire in charge of caring for newly sired Aiba, Aiba owns a coffee shop and Sho is his favourite customer.
If none of that appeals anything you come up with relating to the above genres would be happily accepted as long as you stay true to their personalities.
Secondary pairings: Jun/Ohno or Jun/Nino – I love them both equally.

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc):
In general, I like AU stories that have some angst with a happy ending. I love to read about star-crossed lovers who have to go against something or someone to be together. I especially love misunderstandings and mutual pining. No canon for me this time around please, only AUs.
Here's a list of things I enjoy:
-for tropes: forbidden love; fake dating; enemies or rivals to lovers; university AU; mutual pining; slow-burn; fantasy AU (but no creatures like vampires or werewolves and the likes); hanahaki disease.
-I like my characters to be adults in adult situations acting like adults
-if applicable, any implication that they switch in their sex life would be great (with this I mean that I don't have a preference with top or bottom, but I don't like them to be just one of these things)
-fluff is always welcome
-Do-S Aiba is my forever weakness (this doesn't necessarily mean top!Aiba)
-Sho who's always outspoken and professional, but gets so flustered whenever Aiba is around
-Sho being unable to say no to Aiba no matter how absurd his request is
Whatever my writer wishes to write, so long as it's not in my "do not want" list, I'm sure I will love it. However, if they prefer to get a prompt instead, here's a list they can choose from to write or to get inspired:
-Sho as the King/Emperor's son and Aiba as the captain of the guards' son (or vice versa) and their forbidden love
-A classic fake dating scenario where Sho needs a date for an ex's wedding and they hire Aiba Masaki (by accident or not is the writer's choice)
-Sho and Aiba as rivals who have to work together, for example: Sho as a musician who looks down on idols who has to work with super idol Aiba Masaki; Aiba as head of his department who's forced to work alongside Sho, the head of the same department but from another company, for a shared project
-Aiba as the first openly bisexual rugby player in Japan and Sho as his interviewer with a crush on him
-Aiba and Sho as university professors with a crush on one another (and their colleagues trying to push them to make a move)
-Sho planning the perfect first date for Aiba, and even when the plans go awry he doesn't care as long as he has Aiba by his side

For secondary ships: among Arashi I like matsumiya; junba as past or unrequited lovers is also nice, and sakumiya can make nice exes; I'm okay with yama and juntoshi too. As for pairings outside of Arashi: I like Ueda/Sho, Aiba/Mizukawa Asami; I don't mind Jun/Mao and Nino/Ayako; I prefer Ohno not to be in same-sex relationships, if at all possible. If you want to create an original female or male character for a past or referenced pairing, feel free to do so. As a general rule, I prefer my story to be focused on the main pairing only, so even if there are secondary pairings, I don't like to see them take the spotlight unless it's for a good reason.
As a side note: I love aimiya, sakumiya, and shojun as best friends - and I love all of arashi as friends too - so if my writer needs Sho or Aiba to have a best friend, they can choose accordingly.
What I would NOT like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc):
Here's a general list of things I'm not comfortable with:
-for genres: I'm not a fan of horror, crime, thriller, or dark themes in general; also no to crack (it's fun, but I prefer comedy!)
-fics where someone gets raped (even if it's just mentioned) or suffers from an illness/has a disability
-dub-con or non-con situations. For example, if one of them is drunk and they have sex, even if they want to have sex it's still dub-con; for non-con, any situations in which one of them, or both, are forced to be together against their will, like an arranged marriage for example.
-pwp, bdsm
-threesomes, foursomes, fivesomes, etc.
-mpreg
-incest
-cheating (it's okay if it happened in the past and it's not happening in the story now)
-fics written in first person
-MCD or any character's death, unless they're very minor and they don't affect the story in a heavy way
-random Japanese sentences or words where a perfect equivalent in English exists (for example: no "ohayo" when you can use "good morning", no "okaeri" when you can use "welcome back", no "okaasan" when you can say "mom"; I'm okay with honorifics though, so -san, -kun, -chan, etc)
-stereotypical seme/uke relationships - I like my characters to be adults and act as such no matter who likes to top or bottom
-big age gaps - in fact, I'd prefer it if the characters involved could maintain their actual age difference
-a fic where everybody is gay - I'd like a bit of realism, and I don't want all of Arashi to be gay just for the sake of it (unless the plot is that they all met at school at the LGBT club or something)
-any kind of power play, for example: boss/subordinate, teacher/student, etc. with the exception of the aforementioned prompt I requested
-some tropes I don't like: omegaverse; yakuza/mafia AU; arranged marriage; high school AU; hurt/comfort; polyamory; established relationship; kidfic (a fic where Sho or Aiba has a kid); fics with animals (that doesn't mean that Aiba or Sho can't have a pet, just that it doesn't have to be the main focus).
-for pairings: please no shojun, no aimiya, no ohmiya

My forte is romance with angst that builds up to a happy ending, although I like to write comedy too. In general, I will challenge myself to write any genre but the ones in my "do not want" list. I'm also fine with both AU and non-AU.

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc):
- Single father AUs but with teenagers as their kids, unlike the usual toddlers. Bonus points if teenager(s) is/are realistic and not some sort of moody brat.
- "Dark" AUs aka serial killers on the run, zombie apocalypses, or cannibalistic restaurant owner (think Hannibal-esque).
- High school/university AUs with Aiba in the baseball club and Sho as the kid from the enemy's school.
- Non-AUs that are simply slice of life and revolve around mundane things such as cohabiting or teaching each other how to cook.
- Genderbends, but only if it's F/F and not M/F.
- Anything that takes place at the beach or sea. This can be a beach date, a beach house AU, a vacation, anything as long as the setting is at the sea or beach.
- A trip together outside of Japan, especially Middle East or Southeast Asia.
- Host club AUs but without some sort of glorified reason as to why they're a host (debt, dying dad's bills, etc). It irritates me a lot, so please just let them be a host because they either like the job or is satisfied with their salary.
- Kimi wa Petto AU except without the whole petplay thing. Just some dude Sho picked up from the park who turned out to be a nice guy and now lives with Sho.
- Anything, really. I don't really mind. These can all be established relationships or developing relationships or even ex to lovers.

- Anything with a sexual theme or sex scenes.
- Heavy science fiction or fantasy. Light sci-fi and modern fantasy is OK.
- Unnecessary Japanese words (arigatou, itadakimasu, etc), but honorifics and untranslatable food names are OK.
- Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics, even in an SFW prompt.
- Mpreg.
- Anything serious that has to do with what has happened irl (Shimura's death, covid19, Yuko's death -- please god dear no). Ayako and Nino is fine, I find them cute.
- No Maojun as a side pairing, that's literally it. Any other side pairings are okay with me.

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc): I'm fine with almost anything as long as it's happy ending but I try to put some pointers: both AU and non-AU is fine. I prefer to read fluff, romance spiced up with some angst, action, drama, comedy/humor. mostly modern setting but fantasy/sci-fi is okay too (though I'm picky with that if there're inconsistency in the world concept. you've been warned :D) I prefer Sho topping Aiba, but the fine with the other way too. as long as they're together :D write mutual or one-side pining and I'll love you forever! any secondary pairings are okay for both friendship or romance. I want all of Arashi included in the story somehow

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc):
I do have a preference for non-AU, but I understand also that it might be difficult for some people especially considering the hiatus, so I'll take both non-AU and AU, any rating. I don't have any specific prompts but my requests are :
- I like them as adults behaving like adults. This means yes, please no Aiba as the happy fluffy sunshine angel because while yes he is all of those, he is not -just- that. I like my Aiba to have more depth.
- I love Aiba with dom and sadist tendencies. This might have something to do with the way I see Sho as M (can't help it he makes it so easy, the way he allowed himself to be bullied and humiliated on national tv on regular basis xD) - so, and this is not a must but if you can have Sho trying (and struggling) to handle a mischievous, S Aiba, that would be awesome.
- For genre, I equally love angst and fluff and I don't mind bittersweet ending if that's what you have in mind!
- If there is to be sex scenes, I do have strong preference of Aiba topping Sho, or at the very least, they switch.
What I would NOT like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc):
- I don't want the other members of Arashi paired off with one another as romantic couple, but all the yesses for them being BFFs. Which means yes, I only want Sakuraiba as the only in-Arashi pairing. Please feel free to pair the others with non Arashi members, and preferable also one or two of them in het relationship, even if it's just mentioned.
- No unnecessary Japanese words if it can be perfectly explained in English.
- No any one of them being an unnecessary asshole to the others (this is a leftover 'trauma' of reading sakuraiba or Arashi fics all those years ago where there seems to be a preference in the fandom in making Sho as the badboy who always hurts and make Aiba-chan cry - please no >.<)
- If possible, I'd like not to receive crack, horror, gore stories.
- If there is to be rape scenes (implied or otherwise for angst plot purpose)it should not be between Sho and Aiba. Dubcon is OK for me .... (please don't judge me hahah)

What I would like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc): The most important things to me are: 1. the characters really care about each other, 2. there's a happy and satisfying ending, and 3. all of the Arashi members are at least mentioned. However, if it's not very long or it just doesn't work to have all the members, that's all right. I like lots of genres: canon, AU, slice of life, action, fantasy, comedy, sci-fi, mix and match, most things are good. Romance, including getting together and established relationship, friendship, important relationships of all kinds. Bantering > sniping; warmhearted humor > mean-spirited humor. For secondary pairings anything goes! I like all Arashi pairings and enjoy het pairings a great deal. Women (actresses, talents, etc) are also more than welcome in non-romantic capacities. If you'd like a list of people I'd enjoy seeing or a list of het pairing ideas, I'd be happy to provide through the mods.
I'm not good at coming up with specific prompts, so I'm going to copy/paste an old signup and hope something here seems doable. (You are also welcome to do something completely different, so long as it hits some of the above hopes, etc!)
Unexpected domesticity, like they HAVE to live together for ~a reason~. Especially if it's like, why am I so comfortable with this person I wouldn't have expected to be comfortable with, but oh hey also I want to kiss them oh no. Or they meet at speed-dating but aren't actually there to meet someone, or they're on a double date but aren't supposed to be with each other, or they're on a group date that is an absolute disaster, or they're planning something romantic together for someone else but very logically have to do lots of roleplay or something... (I will accept lots of ridiculous scenarios if they lead to fun feelings). Or they meet in a cute, romantic way but it isn't the right timing, but somehow they become friends, and then years later something sparks it up to romance again. Or they have to pretend to be a couple for one night but then something goes wrong and they have to pretend longer and then they're not pretending? Or they just started working together and it's awkward for ~a reason~. Or they've been friends a long time and never seen each other THAT way but end up sleeping together once and then can't stop noticing each other. Or one's been in love with the other forever, but the latter is oblivious and only starting to catch on to their own impending feelings and (somehow or other) it's almost too late! Adding some sort of fun other something to that romantic stuff is a bonus (for example, I always enjoy seeing what people pick Arashi to have as careers in AUs and such, or they could be in space, or have powers, or anything fun, and for non-AUs you could do whatever fun thing you wanted, too!).
What I would NOT like to receive (genres, plots/prompts, kinks, secondary pairings, etc): Negative references to Nino's marriage no matter how obscure. Major character death, violence, torture, or abuse, Lying, cheating, betrayal. Someone getting gravely ill or dying. High school age or younger Arashi members for more than a small part of the story. Any Arashi member being significantly different from their public persona (like casting someone as the villain or showing someone's gritty ~real personality~). Scapegoating anyone to make Aiba/Sho have a more dramatic love. Time travel. Crack. Drawn-out misunderstandings. Use of Japanese that isn't in use in English as loanwords.
